20 Easy and Amazing Eucalyptus Oil Uses:

  • Put one drop of Eucalyptus oil on the bottom of your feet before you go to bed for a more restful sleep.

  • Mix water, Lemon, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint essential oils in a spray bottle for a cleaning spray. It’s a great germ killer!

  • Create a DIY Vapor Rub that’s also safe for older kids: 3 TBSP coconut oil, 5 drops Eucalyptus oil, 2-5 drops Rosemary oil (pregnant mamas should omit this if they will be using on themselves), 2-5 drops Lavender oil (optional, but it smells great). You can make a little more at a time and keep in a sealed container to use as needed. A word of caution: Do not apply to or near the face of infants or children under ten years of age. Overall it’s considered the safest to only use Lavender and Roman Chamomile essential oil for children under 18 months of age.

  • Congested? Take a bath with a few drops of Eucalyptus mixed into the water to help support breathing.

  • Use Eucalyptus oil as a spot remover. Like lemon oil, it’s effective at removing spots (even gum) from clothing, carpets and other fabrics! I would do a spot test on an inconspicuous area first.

  • Create a sugar body scrub (especially great for tired feet)! Mix 1 cup coconut oil, 2 cups sugar and 10-15 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil (feel free to play around with the ratio of ingredients, this is one consistency that we liked) With the Eucalyptus oil, the scrub is cooling and energizing, antibiotic, deodorizing, good for ailing joints and circulation.

  • Rub onto chest or bottom of feet before exercising.

  • Diffuse to help freshen and cleanse the air as Eucalyptus oil kills airborne bacteria and viruses. Blends well with Wild Orange, Lemon, Lemongrass and Peppermint essential oil.

  • To make a shower cleaner, mix Tea Tree essential oil and Eucalyptus essential oil to make a mold-killing spray. Add 5 drops of each to a spray bottle and fill water. Spray down your shower after each use.

  • Simply clean your floors with hot water and Eucalyptus essential oil. For wood floors, fill a spray bottle with hot water and add 5 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil. Spray and wipe clean. For other floors, add 15 drops to 5 litres of hot water and mop.

  • Create frozen Eucalyptus towels, which are great for after workouts or when outside on a sweltering day. Mix 2 cups water and 10-15 drops Eucalyptus oil in a bowl. Add a wash cloth until submerged, squeeze out excess, fold in half and roll up. Repeat until you’ve run out of water and put wash cloths in freezer for a couple of hours, or until ready to use.

  • Place a few drops on a cloth to remove stubborn stickers.

  • Add a drop or two of Eucalyptus essential oil to the toilet before it gets used, replaces all those chemical bathroom sprays!

  • Add a few drops to your laundry wash cycle to disinfect and to help relieve stuffed sinuses.

  • Create a roll-on headache relief with 20 drops Peppermint essential oil, 17 drops Eucalyptus essential oil, 10 drops Rosemary essential oil, 10 drops Lavender essential oil, 5 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil (optional) and mix in a glass roll on bottle, then fill with a carrier oil.

  • Use a few drops on a hot, wet washcloth to remove crayon and pencil marks from the walls.

  • Mix a couple drops of Eucalyptus essential oil in with your kid’s play dough to keep it fresh longer.

  • Gently massage Eucalyptus oil for soothing relief from muscular aches and pains, arthritis, sprained tendons and bruised and sore muscles.

  • Mix 3-4 drops Eucalyptus essential oil with your pet’s shampoo as natural flea control.

Eucalyptus essential oil, as well as many other oils, is quite concentrated. Make sure that you always dilute it when you are using it topically and please be careful and cautious when using it around babies and young children, as it’s not safe for them especially around the face.

There are a lot of essential oils available out there. And I will readily admit that I own several. But if you’re new to essential oils or you just want to keep things simple, consider these 10 must-have doTERRA essential oils for a healthy home.

The calming essential oil. Apply a drop of lavender essential oil to the temples or diffuse aromatically to help ease tension and for a more peaceful sleep. A drop can also be used to soothe minor skin irritations as it helps skin recover quickly.

Here are some other uses for doTERRA lavender essential oil.

13 ways to use your LAV

Peppermint has many uses. One of my favorites is as a natural energy-booster.  Peppermint also promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing – just dilute a drop with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil and rub on your chest or simply diffuse it aromatically.

A drop of doTERRA essential oil can also be added to a glass of water to help alleviate occasional stomach upset.

The King of the Oils. Frankincense has many uses, including helping to build and maintain a healthy immune system. Just rub a drop on the back of your neck each morning. That simple routine can also help promote feelings of peace and relaxation.

In addition, frankincense is great for the skin! I use it in my moisturizer on a daily basis as it is often used to reduce the appearance of blemishes, fine lines and rejuvenate the skin. Here’s why, check out my blog on why Franky Boy is called the KING OF OILS –

Frankincense – The king of oils  Autism & Essential Oils

Easy Air essential oil will help you do just that – breathe easier. This blend was designed to maintain clear airways and breathing and it does a great job of supporting overall respiratory health. It also helps minimize the effect of seasonal threats – I can’t do without it once everything starts blooming.

Just add some to your diffuser or dilute and rub a drop or two on the chest and back.

A lot of people know melaleuca as tea tree essential oil. It’s well-loved by many, and for good reason! Tea Tree is renowned for its cleansing, soothing and rejuvenating effects on the skin. (It’s in my face wash.)

Tea Tree also helps purify and freshen the air and protect against environmental and seasonal threats. There’s a reason it’s a must-have for natural cleaning!

This doTERRA blend is one oil I never leave home without, especially if I’m planning on eating out. DigestZen aids in the digestion of foods, soothes occasional stomach upset and maintains a healthy gastrointestinal tract.

Rub a drop on your stomach, add a drop to a glass of water, or, if you’re feeling brave, put a drop under your tongue for amazingly fast relief.

This blue essential oil is helpful for soothing sore muscles and achy joints. Use it pre- or post-workout for a comforting sensation of cooling and warmth to problem areas and to support healthy circulation to muscles and joints.

Oregano is a wonderful (and powerful) cleansing agent. When it comes to the body, oregano is one powerful oil. It has immune-enhancing benefits and is an excellent source of antioxidants. It even supports healthy digestion and respiratory function. Plus it makes a great addition to homemade soups and sauces.

  1. LEMON

doTERRA lemon essential oil smells just like a fresh lemon. I love adding a couple drops to my water for it’s wonderful flavor and its ability to naturally cleanse the body and aid digestion.

Lemon can be used in the diffuser to cleanse and purify the air and surfaces, promote a positive mood and support healthy respiratory function. It can even soothe an irritated throat. Lemon essential oil is great for so much! Click here for more on a little awesome bottle of oil for only $13.00

The Top 5 Essential Oils For Inflammation

Inflammation is commonly associated with pain though, in reality, it is our body’s natural response to injuries, as well as from bacterial or viral infections. The pain and discomfort often associated with inflammation can come hand in hand with the body’s attempt to heal itself.

There are cases, however, when our immune system triggers a response even when there are no bacteria or virus to resist, causing damage to the body’s own tissues. This condition is referred to as an autoimmune disorder and the most common example is rheumatoid arthritis. Symptoms associated with this condition include swelling, redness, joint pain and stiffness, and restricted joint functions.

Essential oils are a beautiful way to reduce inflammation and allow our body to soothe and mend in a natural way.

Rosemary Essential Oil

Great for: Increasing bloodflow and reducing inflammation

Rosemary has long been used for its restorative property. As an anti-inflammatory remedy, you can use it as a massage oil, especially to treat muscular pains and rheumatism. Rosemary essential oil can help stimulate circulation. It increases blood flow to the muscles and warms the massaged area to reduce inflammation, as well as relieve pain.

Adding a few drops to a hot bath can not only help you combat headaches effectively, but treat muscular and joint pains too.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Great for: Cooling throbbing sensations and reducing stiffness

Peppermint essential oil has analgesic, anesthetic, as well as anti-inflammatory properties, which provide relief for pain (especially migraines), stiffness, and inflammation associated with arthritis. Its even a great natural oil for weight-loss.

As this oil has such a potent scent, combining it with a carrier oil can reduce its punch. Simply dilute a few drops in two tablespoons of jojoba or almond oil before massaging it onto the inflamed joints. Adding a few drops of a citrus oils such as lemon essential oil can help to amplify its cooling, soothing properties.

Lavender Essential Oil

Great for: It’s anti-inflammatory properties and soothing scent

Lavender essential oil has a number of therapeutic benefits. As well as being a great oil for sleep, its cicatrizant property, for one, is useful for healing wounds, burns, and a host of skin disorders such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and scabies (also making it great for natural shaving).
As an anti-inflammatory solution, lavender is great for joint and muscle stiffness. To use as massage oil, add 5 drops to 10ml of a carrier oil such as wheat germ oil. A lavender bath or compress are also effective for aching muscles.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Great for: Easing and cooling joint and muscle pain

Another versatile oil, eucalyptus essential oil has decongestant and antibacterial properties that are useful for treating respiratory problems, infections and asthma.

Eucalyptus is also known as an anti-inflammatory and an analgesic, making it great for easing muscle and joint pains. You may rub this essential oil onto aching areas directly or mix it with another oil.

Patchouli Essential Oil

Great for: Reducing fever induced inflammation

The health benefits of this essential oil are mostly attributed to its antidepressant, antiseptic, astringent, cicatrisant, sedative and properties. In general, patchouli is great for treating depression and anxieties, as well as providing relief from a number of illnesses.

It is also capable of soothing inflammation, particularly those that are caused by fever. Combined with jojoba or sweet almond oils, patchouli essential oil can be massaged directly to the skin. You may also add several drops to your warm bath to ease your aching muscles and joints.

How to help your child with separation anxiety

Everywhere in this country, children from preschool up to high school are preparing to go on school holidays in a few days time. Staying at home and being amongst their own surroundings for two weeks makes their hearts sings … but going back to school,  All that change, separation, anxiety and peer pressure may be, at times, too much for young people to deal with. Naturally, it is quite common to find children and young adults a little nervous or edgy around this season. As adults, we can help and support them by providing a calming and reassuring atmosphere with the use of essential oils.
To calm anxiety, hyperactivity and restlessness: Lavender essential oil.

To balance out emotions and control mood swings, over-excitement, temper tantrums and anxiety attacks: Wild Orange essential oil.

To help your child move through the different transitions with ease and grace: Cypress essential oil.

To ease fear, anger, depression and anxiety: Bergamot essential oil.

Create your own “Child Soothing Blend”: 10ml roller bottle of Fractionated Coconut Oil ……………. 10 drops of Lavender essential oil 10 drops of Bergamot essential oil 10 drops of Wild Orange essential oil 10 drops of Cypress essential oil.

Add them to your 10ml roller bottle, filled with Fractionated Coconut Oil.. shake well and use this oil to give your child a loving massage in the evenings. If they are not used to massages, you can start by gently applying the oil to their hands – just a small amount is enough and will be well absorbed through the skin.

With the older children allow them to take to school and roll on like a pure-fume and this will help their anxiety and emotional state during the day. Great for the big kids!

I have found for the little ones massages have helped their children feel more at ease and stay healthier. Massage time is a great way to bond with your child.

The caring touch of a parent can help children outgrow their fears, anxiety, anger and frustration.

A massage can induce a peaceful night’s sleep so that your kids wake up in a good mood and are ready to start a new day. I also like to have them rub this blend on their solar plexus area, while they do that, tell them to visualize that all the worries and fears go away.

Parkinson’s Disease-comforting with essential oils

Parkinson’s disease is a movement disorder that is considered both chronic and progressive that affects almost one million Americans alone. Nobody knows the cause of Parkinson’s and officially there is currently no cure for the disease. Treatment options are limited to surgical intervention and medications in order to provide symptom relief.
Each person with Parkinson’s may have a specific set of symptoms, but they typically include some combination of things like rigidity, tremor, instability of posture, and slow movement. Because treatment for the condition is so limited, alternative therapies like acupuncture, yoga, music and art therapy, pet therapy, tai chi and essential oils for Parkinson’s disease are all quite popular. Many of these natural treatment techniques are thought to provide some form of symptom relief.
It is unclear just how precisely essential oils uses benefit persons with Parkinson’s disease, but their utilization throughout history can provide some clues. Essential oils uses have included both providing healing benefits through aromatherapy and massage as well as specific condition or symptom relief through ingestion. Today, only a handful of these applications have been thoroughly studied or evaluated, but evidence has shown that many of the chemical compounds found in plant oils do in fact have medicinal use and the ability to provide soothing benefits when used in aromatherapy. It is worth noting that any alternative therapy must be discussed with a healthcare provider before using, as many essential oils can be toxic or poisonous if ingested, and not all are safe to apply neat without risk of irritation.

With some understanding of how they may work in the first place and any safety concerns associated with them, it becomes easier to see just how essential oils for Parkinson’s disease may be beneficial, both in terms of helping people cope with a chronic health condition as well as possibly providing some symptom relief, as our top five found below are purported to do.

  1. Helichrysum Oil: It has been suggested that the discovered inflammation relieving benefits of helichrysum essential oil may be what makes it one of the best essential oils for Parkinson’s disease. The theory suggests that reducing brain inflammation in persons with the condition may lend to some relief from symptoms.
  2. Clary Sage / Marjoram / Lavender Oil Blend: A small study conducted over a period of nine months found that persons with the disease that either used the aforementioned blend of essential oils in aromatherapy at home or received massages with them outside the home experienced more symptom relief than those who did not. This small study holds some big promise in terms of using essential oils for Parkinson’s disease, because the symptom reductions reported included tremor, rigidity, speech problems, insomnia, muscle and joint pain, nausea, headaches, anxiety and depression and much more.
  3. Frankincense Oil: This ancient oil has received a lot of attention lately, because more and more studies are being done in order to determine just what frankincense essential oil is capable of. One of its suggested benefits includes inflammation relief, which is thought to also occur in the brain, indicating why it is believed that frankincense may be one of the best essential oils for Parkinson’s disease.
  4. Cinnamon Oil: There are a great many health benefits associated with cinnamon essential oil, and it has received big attention lately for purported applications in persons with diabetes. However, the neurological benefits of the sweet spice sometimes get overlooked, and some speculate that it may also be one of the best essential oils for Parkinson’s disease because of these supposed effects.
  5. Vetiver Oil: Tremor reduction is the primary use of vetiver essential oil among essential oils for Parkinson’s disease. More study will be needed to better understand just how the powerful plant compounds affect one of the disease’s most abundant symptoms, but it could be a valuable realm of study for disease sufferers.

The best way to work out to use and how many drops to use is to look at the overall picture.

Which oil can I use to provide comfort in what area ? Selecting a Oil that is of most benefit and using a higher ratio of Drops … will result in that oil and natural benefit being the more dominate oil in your mix/recipe.

There are many benefits to using the oils Aromatically, Tropicalky and Internally. Effectively it takes 22 seconds to reach the brain, within 2 minutes they are found in the bloodstream and at the 20 minute mark they are affecting every cell in your body. Remarkable to say the least!

Extra Notes —-

doTERRA essential oils are safe and gentle enough to use on newborns and babies, but some things to keep in mind:
– Always dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil (such as fractionated coconut oil or olive oil) before using it on your baby. Babies and for children under 3 years old, add 1-2 drops of essential oil to 1-2 tablespoons of carrier oil.
Take care not to get the oil on your baby’s hands because they may rub their eyes.
– If an essential oil accidentally gets into a baby’s eye, dilute with a vegetable oil, such as olive oil or fractionated coconut oil, NOT with water as it drives the oil deeper.
– Use only diluted essential oils in the bath. Babies have very sensitive skin.
– Only use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils on your baby’s sensitive skin.

All DŌTERRA Essential oils have been harvested and filtered to be 100% Certified Pure Therapedic Grade Essential Oils …. For your Peace of Mind with your children.

ADHD can be helped

Millions of children in this world have ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and show symptoms like impulsivity, inattention and hyperactivity. While there are several prescription drugs are available in the market to control the symptoms of ADHD, most popular drugs like Ritalin often have unwanted side effects.

Ritalin may cause permanent nerve tics as well as growth retardation in kids by interfering with the cycles of growth hormones secretion. Research in the last 3 decades has found that inhalation of Essential Oils can significantly help children suffering from this condition. Essential Oils are the substances that are able to cross the blood-brain barrier to heal the brain directly, making them an effective treatment option for ADHD and other mental disorders.

The past 4 weeks, I have been doing a case study at my daughters daycare centre and I have been truly blown away by the results with diffusing the oils in the environment and 3 mums allowing the oils to be applied to be base on the spine when the child has been in a hyperactive and impulsive behaviour.  We still have 2 weeks to ago to the end of the case study, but so far the results have been amazing !!!

Here Are Some Of The Best Essential Oils That Are Proven To Be Effective In The Treatment Of Disorders Like ADHD

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Research has found that Ylang Ylang Oil has sedative effects that are measured by the decrease in blood pressure and pulse rates. In addition, it can considerably elevate the attentiveness and the feeling of content if inhaled in right amounts. Ylang ylang will be a great treatment alternative for those suffering from ADHD and problems like inattentive behavior.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender: I use this oil for its qualities of serotoin .. Calming and grounding within our brain activity. These are the qualities I have found useful in the treatment of problems like ADHD and depression. Additionally, there are several compounds present in Lavender that have sedative effects.

This Oil has also been broadly analyzed for its soothing effects. Studies have reported that Lavender Oil can bring about soothing effects, improved moods, and better concentration. The soothing effects of Lavender Oil are there due to its ingredients like linalool and linalyl acetate found in the science wheel.

Lavender Oil is also known to improve the performance and minimize mental stress. Scientists have found that inhaling Lavender Oil elevates the level of beta waves in the brain, allowing the brain to unwind easily and improve its cognitive performance. One of the many benefits of Lavender Oil is that it helps in calming the mind and improves the concentration.

Cilantro Essential Oil

There’s a very encouraging evidence supporting the fact that Cilantro Oil helps in addressing the concerns related to the presence of excess heavy metal toxins found in children suffering with behavior disorders like ADHD. Cilantro Oil has high anti-depressant, anti-microbe, anxiolytic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, lead-cleansing and neuro-protective qualities. One study examined lead-caused alterations in test subjects and concluded that administration of Cilantro Oil extracts reduces the extent at which lead gets deposited in the body. Another study confirmed that the lead-protective qualities of Cilantro Oil could cause substantial decrease in the lead concentration levels of the body. Cilantro Oil suppresses the lead content in the body through a process called chelation. Cilantro Oil can also help you get rid of mercury as it is known to binding itself with the mercury.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Melaleuca Oil is highly regarded for its anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-microbial qualities. Inhalation of this Essential Oil can improve the defense mechanisms of the body by growing its immune cells. This Oil is also known to help patients with ADHD due to its anti-inflammatory effects, help to the defense mechanisms of the body by growing its immunoglobulin cells, which are often jeopardized because of gastro-intestinal problems, and anti-yeast and anti-microbial affects that suppress the clostridia and candidiasis overgrowth, which is often found in patients suffering from ADHD disorders.

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Cedarwood Oil is probably the most ancient of all of the Essential Oils. It helps you to oxygenate the brain, resulting in clearness of thought. This Oil comes from the Cedar tree and is known to activate the limbic region of the brain, which is responsible for balancing the feelings. Additionally, it stimulates the pinneal gland, which can help regulate melatonin. Furthermore, Cedarwood Oil has a soothing effect, especially when diffused into the air.

Studies have concluded that this oil could effectively treat ADHD due to its soothing and cleansing qualities. Whenever I feel depressed and low, I just diffuse six or seven drops of Cederwood into the air. It’s not a miracle, nevertheless it helps me to feel encouraged and concentrate on my work. You can also use this oil on your skin for the same effect. Some people use Cedarwood just for its great smell. It can make your entire premises smell like a forest! Like citrus fresh, it’s also an excellent air freshener.

Vetiver Essential Oil

Vetiver Oil is the Essential Oil that is talked about, when it comes to management of ADHD. Vetiver is basically a grass that has a branched root. This root is used to produce the Essential Oil through the process of distillation. Vetiver is grown in many regions due to its anti-erosion effects on the soil. Its widespread roots will help to hold the soil together and stabilize the land. When used on humans, this same stabilizing quality helps them to not fall apart emotionally.

Vetiver comes with an intense “grounding quality”. It allows us to stay in contact with ourselves and feel the needs of our body. It’s also good for individuals who use their hearts more than their brains. In addition to helping the rational people in making their lives better, Vetiver Oil can help those that feel nervous, tense or exhausted. It releases the tension and provides you with strength, energy and re-growth. Due to its warm, deep and adopting quality, it will help you in becoming more calm and tolerant towards yourselves, your sorrows, your emotional issues and towards your environment. This is what is required for overcoming problems like ADHD.

The scent of Vetiver Oil is so strong that you just need a little bit of it. About 1 drop of Vetiver Oil in 50 ml carrier Oil or alcohol is going to be enough. In order to thin the Oil and have easy access, you can warm the bottle for 4-5 minutes.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Eastern orthodox priests use Frankincense Oil in their worship. The different Oil blends they use include Frankincense Oil as an essential ingredient. Just like Cedarwood, this Oil activates the limbic system, which is the memory center of the brain. Additionally, it helps in stimulating the pituary, pineal and hypothalamus glands.

Past research has shown that aromatically using one Oil at a time, 3 times in a day, for one month is very beneficial in the treatment of ADHD. It’s thought that the inhalation of Essential Oils can settle the brain waves in children suffering from ADHD and make them normal again.

With Lavender Oil, Cedarwood Oil and Vetiver Oil increasing the performance of ADHD in children by 53 percent, 83 percent and 100 percent respectively, a significant improvement can also be seen in the behavioural patterns and scholastic performance of the children being treated with Essential Oils.

Rubbing Vetiver Oil at the base of toes, where brain reflexology points exist, can help control impulses caused by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In brain scans, Vetiver Oil was found to be most effective giving the best possible results.
